Misha Koroteev comedy director and creative director in New York
Thank heavens you’re here. I have to show you something.

Grab-a-pigeon.
I write and direct commercials and branded series people watch on purpose.
I’ve directed for Samsung, Babbel, Scentbird and Plarium, and cut a trailer for Netflix. I also once had to choose Megan Fox’s best scream. Somebody had to.
Grab a drink. And whatever you do, don’t click the last video at the very bottom of the page. I’ll explain later. very bottom ↓

A director who used to be the client
Before I ever held a camera, I spent eight years selling magazines: Cosmopolitan, FHM, then marketing director at Men’s Health. So I know the meeting after the shoot. Someone asks “did it work?” and everybody studies their shoes.
Then I co-founded VGNC, an interactive agency, and became the creative director who kept stealing the director’s chair. I’ve been doing it from New York since 2014.
So the person who wrote the joke is in the edit room. Jokes usually die in committee. Mine have a bodyguard.
Eight years of these.
Everybody, studying.
The bodyguard.
The Webby thing
Awards and the Webby thing
I judge the Webby Awards, which is a polite way of saying I watch a lot of internet for a living.
12Webby wins and mentions
4FWAs
~50awards in total
My own work, mostly the interactive films, picked up 12 Webby wins and mentions, 4 FWAs and about 50 awards in total. My favorite is still a Webby nomination in the category “Weird,” for a project I’m not allowed to show you.
Inflatable, for safety.

AI
AI filmmaking, the boring way
AI is VFX.
I use Seedance, Kling, Veo and Higgsfield the way we used to use VFX.
If you can tell, I did it wrong (unless that’s the joke).
The helicopter shot. No helicopter.
Exhibit A. You can tell.

Shows I host about why video works
hihello breaks down what’s working in social video. yyyyy.show gets creatives to describe their actual process, the messy version that never makes Instagram.
hi hello
For stealing secrets.
Let’s chat.
The fastest way to me is email. Tell me what it is, when it shoots or is due, and roughly what the budget is.
